Impressive performance

I was pleasantly surprised at the performance of this battery powered weed whacker. I was half expecting to be disappointed but as of yet, I am happy that my fears were unjustified. The weed whacker performed well with high power output yet is amazingly quiet. It is quieter than my B&D cordless trimmer. They include two battery packs, which are similar in shape to the B&D battery packs, but they do not plug in to charge the same way so you cannot use a B&D charger for these batteries. The plug is barrel shaped. The charger has a light on the wall wart, which is green when it is plugged into the wall. Only when you plug a battery into it does it turn red, then back to green when the battery is full. The trimmer itself is easy to use. There is a safety to keep you from turning it on accidently when the trigger is pulled. It is easy and not awkward to press he safety then start trimming. I find this one much nicer than the one on my B&D.The trimmer comes in a smaller box so assembly is required. My husband had it assembled and working in about 10 minutes. He said it was easy to assemble and it feels very solid, although it has a lighter weight to it than my B&D. I did not notice anything loose or ill-fitting while operating this trimmer. This is not a heavy duty or commercial quality trimmer but it is good for lighter, average duty everyday trimming. It had zero problems going through thicker weed stems. It comes with 8 spools of line, but each spool has very little line on it, which was disappointing but not surprising. I have not had the chance to see how easy it is to refill them. The line that is provided doesn't last very long but I was testing it on some thicker weeds. For grass, it will probably last longer. They have included a strap but so far, I have not used it. This weeder is so lightweight, I have had no need for it.Overall, I think this is an impressive weeder for the price point. As I previously stated, it is not meant for heavy duty use but it works very impressively for your average every day trimming jobs. It is very lightweight so it is not a chore to work with. And after using the search box on the product page, I found some larger 4 Ah batteries that should be compatible. Best of all, it is QUIETER than your average trimmer.

Works fine for grass, which is what the string is intended for. Advancing string is easy at least.

I don't have a lot of grass in my backyard in Phoenix, but I do have some that pops up, along with some weeds. I had been spraying, usually but the last time I sprayed, it seemed to do almost nothing, so when this came up, I thought why not try it here.So the quick summary: it comes with two batteries, so no gas, which is great. It was relatively easy to put together, since it largely came together--you just need to put the pipes together, kind of like a lamp, with the power cord going through the pipes. It's got a good battery indicator on it, and the safety button switch is pretty easy to use. There is a wire bracket guard you can install on the front if you are trying It's really not heavy enough to be using the strap, but it did have a mount for that. IT does comes with a bunch of extra line reels. As far as the line reels, these aren't the best string. It's plastic, and you can feel it is fragile, but it does work well enough on light grass. You will break string fairly often if you hit anything hard, like a branch, or even woody leaf stems. One of the nicest features to me is the line reel advancement. You do break string, so you do have to advance it often enough. Fortunately, they make iit pretty easy. You just pinch the cover on two sides, (a lot like a child proof cap!) and it comes off, and you can thread the reel through the hole if broke off too far back. There is a little button that advances the plastic gear on the reel. At least this part is very simply.I didn't use the edger part much, but I can see it would be versatile that way. You likely want to ensure you are being accurate and hitting grass though, because it will break the string, and you have to advance it again.By and large, it did the job in my back yard. I did have to advance or string it a number of times for one job, but there is a lot of string that comes with it. I would be temped to buy some better nylon string and rewind these reels with that, if I was doing anything heavy. For some light weed control, these worked ok. For a really lightweight machine, it thought it did a good enough job. It's not meant to be a profession string drummer, but I think it worked just fine for doing the light work around the yard. It might be worth getting the nylon string, and it could surprise as an even better machine. It didn't seem to lack power so if some sturdier string can be employed you might find it punching above its weight.

This seems to be very decent grass trimmed, ideally, edge trimmer. It arrived safely packed in the box, surprisingly small box. The trimmer is folded on 3 parts, and only the power cord connects it in between. The whole unit is lightweight and more manageable than the corded version. The 3 piece pole is made of sturdy metal while the top and bottom of the trimmer (in light green and black colours) are made of plastic. Obviously, the motor and electrical connections must be suitable for it to work.Apart from connecting 3 parts of the rod together, we need to connect the additional handle on the middle section of the rod (a handle and screw is in the bag) and also metal blade guard over the spool and the plastic wheeled guard that requires 2 small screws and screwdriver to assemble (all included). In the box, we get a pair of grippy fabric gloves, 2 21V batteries, a lightweight power charger for the batteries, and a set of u spare spools. Instruction, obviously, is also included, but it's quite basic in black and white print with small images. The machine isn't that loud, just as i expected. The handle has safety locker that we need to release before starting the motor. It's small bit that needs to be shifted forward so then the switch button can be pressed to start the motor. The machine works well and it does the job. The spool line has the option to adjust it's length when the line is too short. There is special button for it to press while pulling the line to the right length. The motor head also can tilt, there is round button on side. Also we csn rotate the whole motor left or right (oval button by the pole). This handy, portable grass trimmer is good for what it does. And the extra, it comes with it will be really handy to have so at least I wont need to look around for an extra specific battery or spool for it.

Great for Small Yards!

This little weed whacker is perfect for a person with a small yard. It's lightweight and easy to use.Putting it together was a mild challenge, but my husband did it without looking at the instructions. It comes with 2 batteries that are already charged and ready to go. Not having to use gasoline is very ideal for us.I am used to weed whackers that have 2 plastic strings for a double-duty performance. This one has one string "blade" only. It comes with plenty of replacement plastic string reels.Again, this weed eater is good for light use or anyone just starting out in a new home and in need of a temporary, affordable option. The price I saw listed is line in the the quality. This should be durable enough to last years with mild use.

Powerful, convenient cordless trimmer - great performance, minor assembly issue

This cordless, battery-operated weed wacker is now part of my yard tools. Right out of the box, both batteries came fully charged – not many tools offer that. Even better, having two batteries included means I can get through my weed-infested backyard without worrying about running out of power. So far, I haven’t even needed to recharge the first battery after a full session.I really appreciate the digital display that shows the remaining battery life—it takes the guesswork out of when you need to swap or recharge. The package also comes with 8 pre-wound spools – it’s a big plus.Performance-wise, it gets the job done well. It cuts through weeds effectively, and the shoulder strap combined with the auxiliary handle makes a noticeable difference in reducing fatigue during longer use.My only issue is with the assembly. While I didn’t need the manual since I’ve used similar tools before, I ran into trouble connecting the middle section to the lower shaft. The stop pin just wouldn’t fully slide into the pin hole no matter how much force I applied. For now, I’ve left it partially connected and just readjust the lower shaft if it shifts during use. If it doesn’t improve over time, I may just use a strong adhesive or glue to secure it permanently.I haven’t had to replace the spool yet, but that will come later once the original line runs out. There’s just a bit of frustration during assembly, but this weed wacker is a reliable and efficient trimmer with great battery life and useful features.

Works Surprisingly Well

Comes in a small box so some assembly needed. Goes together pretty easy and fast. The overall feel of this unit is that its for light trimming and edging. There is a lot of play through out the unit so you feel that. The snap on front guard is kind of a pain because it moves a lot so I took it off. The adjustable handle feels very cheap and it moves a lot so I had to keep checking the tightness of it. The motor itself is kind of loud more than I was expecting it to be.The strap holder needed to be moved to the upper shaft so I needed an allen wrench to loosen it so that I could slide it up the shaft. Not a big deal but it doesn't say that anywhere in the instructions. The battery meter is very hard to see unless you're in the shade but it does work. I'm glad it has it because the batteries don't have a power gauge. Ok how did it perform well surprising well I was kind of shocked. I love that the head angle is adjustable as is the shaft so you can customize it to your needs. This made it feel pretty good for someone with a bad back and of course it's also very light. I did most of my yard before the battery quit so I just popped in the second one and finished. The second battery still showed seventy percent charged when I was done so that was kind of impressive. I also used it as an edger and that really worked well. The wheel makes it very easy and keeps the string at a good distance so you don't waste string buy going to deep. The spools are kinda of small but I didn't have to change it out yet. I'll be interested in how long it will last before I need to change it.Overall it performed better than I thought so that's the reason for the four stars. Now the price I think is kinda of high because I saw the exact same unit only a different color and it also included everything that this unit came with but for twenty dollars less. For this price range there are better and heavier duty units available. I don't know about the adjustability though and that really makes this unit shine. How long will this unit last who knows I'm pretty careful with my equipment but if I'm going by the feel of it I'm not expecting too much from it. Maybe it will surprise me.
